How to Get Involved

Three ways you can help fight child hunger

1

Package Meals

Join us at a packaging event and help package nutritious meals. No experience necessary - we'll teach you everything you need to know. Perfect for families, groups, and individuals of all ages.

2

Start a Team

Become a team captain and recruit 12 people to join your team. Each team member donates $10, and together you'll package meals that feed hundreds of children.

3

Spread the Word

Share our mission on social media, tell your friends and family, or organize a fundraising event. Every voice helps raise awareness about child hunger.

What to Expect at a Packaging Event

Our packaging events are fun, engaging, and meaningful. Here's what you can expect when you volunteer with Kids Against Hunger:

  • Duration: Typical events last about 2 hours
  • Activities: Mix ingredients, weigh packages, seal bags, and box meals
  • Teamwork: Work alongside other volunteers in assembly-line fashion
  • Impact: Each volunteer typically packages 200+ meals
  • All Ages: Children, teens, and adults all welcome
  • No Experience: We provide all training and materials

Many volunteers describe packaging events as transformative experiences. There's something powerful about knowing that the meal you just packaged will soon be in the hands of a hungry child.

Become a Team Captain

Take your involvement to the next level by becoming a team captain. As a captain, you'll:

  • Create a team name and identity
  • Recruit 12 people to join your team
  • Each team member contributes $10 (total $120 per team member)
  • Team goal: $1,440 (enough to feed 12 children for a year)
  • Attend a 2-hour packaging event together
  • Make a significant impact on child hunger

Team captains receive special recognition and the satisfaction of knowing they mobilized their community to make a real difference.
